Boy am I NOT feeling lucky! I had this great blog post all done up. It was really nice and pretty. I scheduled it because I was flying out of ANC on the sixth and wouldn't arrive in CHI until after the hop started. But as you can see blogger decided to eat the dang on thing.
SO now let me tell you about my unlucky day that started with the post not working. Now add to it that I sat next to the two year old and although sleepy he fought me kicking out and screaming for most of the flight. But the kicker was when I woke up in the middle of the flight feeling more than a bit light headed. Suddenly I couldn't keep my head up and could only flail my arm across the aisle to my hubby. He calls the flight attendant and I find my self pumped full of water and on oxygen for the next hour. The police board the plane to check that I am okay and don't need a stretcher. Next comes the paramedics who escort me off the plane. I get a blood sugar level, EKG, blood pressure and a couple other test right on the spot. Most of all they keep asking am I preggers.....NO I AM JUST FAT!!!!
Then I get in a wheel chair and taken down to baggage claim. Soon we are headed to the rental car place. I am still sick to my stomach and have to keep a death grip on the 2 yo while hubby wrangles with our four bags. Then we begin the five hour drive to STL. Got light headed once. Still not 100% better.
I have never in my life been sick on an airplane. I don't faint unless I get overheated from sun exposure or exercise. NOT while sleeping.

I've never experienced anything like that on a plane. I'm a little scared to fly now.

I'm sorry that you got sick on the plane, I, thankfully, have never had that problem. Of course with all the crap going around it's not surprising. I also signed up for your newsletter.

I've never gotten sick on a plane before, but once, coming home from Japan, I was real close (Life Lesson: NEVER go out drinking absinthe all night in Shinjuku the night before a 13 hour flight that leaves at 6am!)

I have not yet flown but planning to soon, really hope this doesn't happen.

omg, I hope your luck definitely improves! All of that and you still managed to get a post up! Wow, and thank you!! I'm not here to enter, I just wanted to say thanks for joining :)
Well I am sending good vibes your luck is abundant in the City that Never Sleeps. I hope you have a wonderful time. I do not get sick on planes, but put me inside a boat and I certainly want to be back on deck. I love planes and helicopters they are, for me, the best mode of transportation. Thank you for participating in this fun giveaway hop - I' feeling lucky here and rubbing my head and tummy hoping it rubs off on you!

Hope you're feeling better. How scary!
I've never been air sick, per se, but I did have a tooth abscess suddenly flare up due to a plane ride. Had to be rushed to the dentist at my destination. He did what he could but basically just gave me painkillers to get me through the trip and home because I needed surgery. He said, "All I could do is pull out your front tooth." Uh, no thanks. Got home, had surgery, still have the tooth.
Apparently, the pressure changes in a plane can make a tiny abscess flare up. Who knew?

There are things you can do if you get airsick. Ask your doctor. I get motion sick, so I get a patch, it works great. Good luck at those tables.

Never on an airplane but sounds horrible

wow. I hope you are doing a LOT better now. Yes, I have been sick on a plane. I was coming back from Germany, a 12 hour flight mind you, and had food poisoning from our last meal in Austria. What was even worse... it was a charter for a band who played at October Fest. We were all sick to some degree. The poor stewardesses literly had people laying out in the aisles. I lost 30 lbs over the next 4 weeks. I don't recommend it.

Sorry about the rough start to your trip. But it sounds like Vegas is turning out much better. Hope you Hit the Jackpot. My favorite is Ellis Island. They brew their own beer and make their own rootbeer. It rocks!!
Have fun!

Hope you had good luck on your Vegas trip! I've never had an experience like yours, but I do have an unfortunate tendency to get car sick on long (long being defined as a half hour :p) trips. Which cuts out my favorite pasttime: reading. *sighs* Stupid vehicles.
Thank you for the contest!

Glad you made it back! Hope you are feeling better. Congrats on the book!! I, fortunately, have not been sick while flying, but I HATE planes! We now travel mostly by car, even 24 hrs, to visit family. The hubby does not like that, but last time we went to visit, I was 3 months pregnant. So, I guess I kind of got sick on the way and back. I just get nauseous in the backseat. What a fun ride we have! I have signed up for your newsletter with the email below. Thank you for the giveaway and HOP! :)
